Of the two AVC circuit tubes does having the 6SL7 in place without the 6SK7 have any effect on output level or tone? Also in your other video you mention changing values of some caps to alter tone, what have you found in this area?
Had me an old 50 something philco that I got for $35 at a swap meet. She was pristine except for nothing coming out but the hummmm. So I took her home gave her the minimalist polish (nice woodgrain). Then I downloaded her diagrams and started to work. Only thing she needed was for the shortwave antennae to be reattached and of course 2 old caps replaced. She purred like a cougar after that. Had am/fm/shortwave/ and some other setting like military maybe? Sold her for $300.
