This is a must-see introduction to the Lisbon Treaty and the ramifications it poses to the economic and social well-being of Ireland.

LISBON TREATY PUTS THE EU IN CHARGE

Under the Lisbon Treaty the EU Court of Justice will have the final say on our social laws and the EU's social charter will be made legally binding across the EU. That could force us to change our laws on issues as important as how we raise and educate our children, legalization of prostitution and drugs, abortion and euthanasia. Lisbon would turn Ireland into a province or region of an EU superstate and make us citizens of it first rather than of our Republic.

  • For one, Holland has seen far to many Wars. We have been in Wars with the Spanish. We have been in Wars with the French. We have been in Wars with the British. We have been in Wars with the Germans. Finally with the EU we have stopped digging graves and some people are against EU. Strange. Is Iceland doing any better. Japan perhaps with it`s monstrous debt. Perhaps the US with it`s 14 Trillion Debt and 43 US states on the Brink of Financial ruin. Yes, I love the EU. Insult me all you want.

  • I see this video really worked... Oh wait a minute, no it didn't... We voted yes you stupid, short sighted wanker...

  • doesnt really matter if we vote no we,ll be asked to vote again and again and again until we vote yes and then we,ll be stuck

  • nice

  • @padraigomairtin

haha they want to take away our voting rights. increase military spending, make an army equal to america, control all the stuff we need. take control of our bunreacht na hEirinn and if we didnt vote yes they'd have made us pay back severly increased rates of tax.

all because we are a small country.

Fuck Europe,Fuck the EU, Fuck the Lisbon Treaty.

im not going to obey ANY rules passed by Europe becaues i didnt accept it.

  • By the way, the real patriot and 1916 hero who said those words was Sean Lemass. Your vision of an Ireland isolated from Europe would impoverish us all and your "fight" would be the ruin of us. Real patriots act in the best interests of their country. Ireland has gone from being an imporished backwater to one of the richest countries in the world since we joined Europe in '73. The real patriot Lemass was right about Europe. You, the paper patriot are wrong.

  • @padraigomairtin

paper patriot? fine then if you want a go say so and we'll fight. best man wins.

and fuck europe they want to nick our jobs and send our businesses to china because its cheaper there. so what happens when all jobs move to china? we move with them. thereby ireland dies which i wont let. as long as i breath ill fight for Eire

  • "Ireland belongs to Europe by history, tradition and sentiment... Our destiny is bound up with that of Europe...Ireland accepts the ideal of European unity and the conception embodied in the Treaty of Rome." That is from someone who fought for Ireland's independence in 1916 not a paper patriot like you.

  • too late to vote no now all we can do if TAKE ARMS against any laws they want to put on us. they want to become an empire like britain and oppress us. Take Arms and Fight For Ireland!

  • I presume "they" here is the EU commission. They did care. They were advised by the Irish government about the unfounded concerns brought about by the No camp. (Conscription, Abortion etc) and they gave, admittedly unneeded, legally binding guarantees. The No camp in the 2nd referendum were forced into the most outlandish lies. They lost all credibility and thus lost the referendum
