Arrows do the song "Feelin' This Way" from their 1976 EMI album First Hit, produced by Ireland's finest, Phil Coulter. A band written tune, Alan Merrill sings lead vocals and plays bass guitar, Jake Hooker on guitar and background vocals, and Paul Varley drums and background vocals.
Lyrics-
-Sometimes I feel like giving up
For all I give, sure ain't getting back enough
Still I know, a change is coming through
What's done is done, forget it,
I'm gonna get into something new
that's what I'm gonna do-
-This old heart of mine says the sun don't shine
But I ain't gonna worry 'bout that
Cos this old heart of mine knows the sun's gonna
shine, so I ain't gonna worry 'bout that, oh no!
When I'm feeling this way baby
When I'm feelin' this way
I let it ride for jusrt one more day, yeah,
when I'm feeling this way.
-There ain't nothing gets me down
Long as this world goes 'round
and the birds keep on singing' in the sky
Cos I know a change's gonna come
With the morning sun and I don't ever
have to aske why, oh no.
When I'm feeling this way baby
When I'm feelin' this way
I let it ride for jusrt one more day, yeah,
when I'm feeling this way
When I'm feeling this way
(why should I worry I ain't in a hurry)
When I'm feeling this way
(It's all right, every night, yeah)
When I'm feeling this way
(You know you know you know
I gotta get what I want)
When I'm feelin' this way- fade out-

  • Why did I discover this band only two days ago? And why were they not at all popular over here? I'm the same generation. Better late than never! Love 'em!

  • @HengistTheGreat. Hi, Alan sang lead in The Arrows and played bass. but during his time with Derringer in the early 80s he played guitar and sang harmony. At the same time he was recording a solo album (Never Pet A Burning Dog) with the Derringer band backing him up on about 5 tracks recorded around 1982.

  • Alan, the Arrows singer played guitar and sang with both bands, Derringer and Meat Loaf in the eighties. In 1985 he made a solo album on Polydor and acted in the Encyclopedia Brown tv series.

  • And sang for (with?) Derringer...

  • But you still get the impression that they keep it simple because it sounds better like that, not because they can't handle more. Sorry Ramones fans.

  • The Arrows drummer Paul passed away in June of 2007. RIP.

  • Great song!
