Alligator at the Water Park

An alligator slips into the Cinco Ranch Water Park. (June 2006)

Other Information:

The pool is surrounded by a swamp on 3 sides that is about 20ft wide and 4-5ft deep. Alligators do live in these swamps, as there are many throughout the neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods. There is a 6ft tall iron fence dividing the pool area from the rest of the swamp/walking trail. But the fence leaves a 6-8in gap between the bottom rail and the ground (small enough for an alligator to slip through).

Once the alligator was removed it was taken to an alligator farm in nearby Brazos Bend.

Cinco Ranch is located near Katy, TX, which is about 18 miles outside of downtown Houston, TX.

And none of you 7yr armchair animal control officers would ever jump in and grab an alligator so STOP SUGGESTING IT.
