A year since I bought the laptop (VGN-CR123E/B)...now is a good time to clear all the gunk thats inside and out. (You can't IMAGINE the **** inside keyboards)

Tried to take the whole thing apart, but apparently it seems like the motherboard is "glued/screwed" to the laptop casing ._. (Insight on how to take that apart would be appreciated ^^)

  • Say I have the same kind of sony vaio u have (sony vaio vgn-cr220e) And i took it apart too but I have no idea where the location of the video driver is...can you help me?

  • You mean the video/graphics card?

The video cards on laptops are mostly integrated on the motherboard. Mine's is right below the processor in the

    beginning of this video.

If you're interested in the driver for your particular model, you should search "Mobile Intel X3100" at the Intel website.

  • I dont have mobel intel X3100. I just needed the location of where i could find the video card location so i can take it out and stick it back in cause right now my laptop is having screen issues and the person who saw it told me to find the video driver and the video card and look at it and then stick it back in.

  • The card is integrated on the motherboard (which means you can't simply take it out). The only thing you should do is to uninstall the current driver you have, and reinstall the latest driver provided by Intel.

  • in order to take the whole thing apart you need to take the keyboard off

look at some other videos for the whole description theres one screw that holds the whole assembly together

  • Yeah I noticed a screw holding the casing and MB together. But the screw seemed "hidden" and seemed to be permanently screwed. I'll give that keyboard method a try. ^^

  • Hey guys, I cant figure out out to remove the keyboard on my vgncr220e! I Need help, so I can check the connection of the LCD cable to the motherboard, and I'm pretty sure the cable connects beneath the keyboard...

  • Since it's a laptop, thermal pads are applied instead of a compound. I was too lazy to get some, so I left the old thermal pad on. :)

  • You forgot thermal compound
