With farmland being developed into residential areas, space for horses is dwindling yet ranches and backyard breeders keep producing foals. It is an ever growing problem that needs to be seen ad not overlooked. Just as with companion animals, rampant reproduction of whatever you have to whatever your neighbor has is just as detramental to lives of the horses. When millions of horses are being slaughtered in america, why are we overlooking the effects of backyard breeding in the equine community. Help end equine overpopulation by castrating your stallions and not breeding your mares. Be part of the solution and not part of the problem.

  • the so called song played along with this video is SO ANNOYING it litterally takes-away from the message.I'm sorry singer but get another job.The iraqis could use this to torture peoples.Take the rediculous noise off the air P L E A S E

  • LOL i am sorry that the song distracts from the video. I will keep that in mind if i make more.

  • We don't yet have this problem in the UK but it seems to be creeping that way. There are so many people here breeding thoroughbreds that no one knows what to do with them. Most get put to racing, don't win anything then get sold on as "experienced rider only". It's not a big problem yet but with most people just wanting a nice family cob, where will all the ex racehorses go?

  • And Tb's are not easy keepers. So i do hope that maybe it will get under control before it is a problem.

  • Much of this applies to all animals... not only horses. THINK FIRST!!!

  • I agree all the way!!

  • It is a shame these morons got a law passed prohibiting it. They bear the responsibility for the longterm mistreatment of equines. At least when they were legal to sell to the food market...Humans were fed and the misery was short term. Now equines are left to waste away instead of being used for something.I realize this is not a popular stance but if you truely cared for these magnificent creatures, you would educate youselves as to the reality, instead of falling for the PETA bullsh*t.

  • It is sad......and wrong.....I think because the human population is so overwhelming, and these shitheads treat animals the way they do...why not slaughter the slaughtereres instead, let the animals watch and laugh. The best hope for these animals is to just wait it out. Mankind will annilate themselves soon enough, as we've seen on recent activities here on earth, and then all the animals on this planet can get back to grazing in wide open grassy fields, marine life as well too

  • SAD!!!

  • Years ago we'd heard about the plight of horses. As Amish, we use horses dependently, and, our horses are the best cared for in the nation. But we have to breed our own horses because they're too expensive for us to buy. We contacted the persons for who were leading the drive to save horses from slaughter (actor Bo Derek) contacting all emails on the "Bless the Beasts" contact page saying we'd take 10,000 to start - No reply was the reply! Why? See homepage (U-posts are limited in size)!
