I raced down Hwy 77 from Norman to document the Heartland Flyer making its daily morning stop at the historic Santa Fe depot in Pauls Valley, OK on its way to Fort Worth, TX.

Train: Southbound Amtrak 821 "The Heartland Flyer"

Location: Pauls Valley, OK @ Charles St

  • how busy is tht sub?

  • @19961JORDAN About 25-40 trains per 24 hr period, depending on what day you hit it. Some days the line can be very busy and keep you on your toes all day long with a train every 20-40 minutes, and some days it can be depressingly dead and you'll go through late morning and half the afternoon only seeing one train or no trains at all. Early mornings and late afternoons/evenings are usually the best times to catch trains on this line I've noticed.
