  • Hi! this video is good, i just have a question doing a right hook i feel comfortable with tha hand in a vertical position, but not so vertical, just a few degrees to the left, i feel that is a natural movement, i saw in a video that pacquiaos trainer teach to do it with the palm facing the floor Horizontal, which is right??, which is more powerful??, which is the way to ko someone??

  • @elinfiernoentusojos The reason you hold the palm face in is; if you were to miss withe the hook you are likely to catch your pinky knuckle, making it more susceptible to breaking (boxers fracture). Holding the fist vertically (palm in) all knuckle should hit at the same time.

Also, this position makes it easier for the puncher to grab at the back of an elbow or the head.

  • @elinfiernoentusojos Ultimately in boxing it isn't a huge deal, but if I am not wearing boxing gloves and have my hands nearly casted with tape, I would throw the hook palm in.
