@seekgeo cheers man - you've been very helpful - I'm planning to go around May time - another thing if you don't mind - How much money would you think I'll need - what the minimum budget per day? any good hotels or hostels you recommend???

Scandinavian/Nordic countries are the best because all the men are gay and that leaves the women for the rest of us

@rjcream You'd be surprised that Iceland is very open-minded, no hatred or anything. They are very cool with anybody so nothing for you to worry about. Just be yourself and enjoy Iceland if you go. I visited there 3 times already, love it!!!

@seekgeo thank you for your response - I'll begin planning my trip. I want to see the blue lagoons and possibly the northern lights - any advice for what time of year to go????

@rjcream Blue Lagoon is one of my favorite destinations! So beautiful, so relax and all. I'd recommend to go during Spring or Summer.. Fall is ok but definitely not winter only because too much snow, not much to do.
Northern Lights which I saw not long ago on my last trip there, most amazing ever! Check out the website - great tour bus that takes you places where you want to check out. Type re then "." then is

How good would you say everyone's English speaking was when your were there? I'd love to go, but I'm worried I'd have to learn the language if I wanted to even catch a lift on a bus, let alone get to talk to alone in conversation. Plus, I wouldn't want to butcher the language either (beautiful language when you listen carefully to it BTW). I just want to know I could talk easy in English without accidentally offending anyone. :)

@DeadWhiteButterflies You would be surprised to know that a lot of icelanders speak English very well there. We went there twice and have not met one who don't speak English so pretty much almost everyone know English. You will do fine there. :-)
