I believe there is a much easier way to set up synchronization between two computers. On the first computer, I opened the library within EndNote and chose File Menu-->Compressed Library. I waited for the compressed .enlx file to be created, and then copied it to my second computer. On the second computer, I opened the .enlx file in EndNote, which then extracted the library file and associated foler. I then clicked Sync and entered my account info. This worked well and was quicker/easier.

Yes, this method will now work, IF you create the compressed library after syncing at least once. We have been working on improving Sync since EndNote X6 was released, but I have not had time to create an updated video.

With huge libraries beyond 500 references it is a pain to do that. I really wished to have an easier option. I thought it is working much better. To be honest I was much more satisfied with the syncing system of X5. Furthermore I have a lot of attachments in my library and syncing lasts hours. At first I thought it is only taking that long the first time of sync. Unfortunately it is not getting better. I will downgrade to X5 again, as the new system is not working properly yet.

It should take a long time the first time, but should be much faster after that with the same library on the same computer because it would only update changes. Our tech support is free and they might be able to help you with this.

Sorry. We don't hire actors for the voices. We use real EndNote specialists and record in an office with standard computer microphones instead of a sound studio.

I just wanted to add that I had already sync'd my the library on my first computer with EndNote Web. So basically the steps are sync 1st library, then make compressed library and copy to 2nd computer, then open on 2nd computer and sync. No duplication and very quick on 2nd computer.

There shouldn't be a problem doing that. Just make sure you sync your office library before you save a copy of it. Also make sure you bring the whole library--meaning the .enl file and the .Data folder--over to the second computer.

If I want to use the same library on my office computer and my home computer, why cant I just sync my office library, then copy the library and paste on my home computer and sync? Would that not work? This way I would have the same library on my office and home computer.
