This is Bruce Springsteen's first album released in 1973 to positive reviews from critics. The album was the first in a long alustrius career from one of America's greatest songwriters. His first album is known for it's Dylanesque sound and also helped popularize Jersey Shore Sound.

The album was placed at number 379 on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of The 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time
