Since 1994, the year our band was founded, the Dixieland Crackerjacks rapidly gained a healthy reputation as one of the foremost bands in the classical jazz field in Europe. Professional musicians with a deep love and understanding for the swinging and happy sounds stemming from the twenties and thirties of the former century, play a varied program that highlights the music from that same era, with occasional own compositions of the band members mixed in between.
Since the Dixieland Crackerjacks are available both as a Concert band and as a Marching Band our music can be heard in many different settings.
The Concert band usually plays in Jazz clubs and musical festivals and made international tours throughout western Europe. The marching band plays in the tradition of the New Orleans brass bands and can be heard at many different places where music is required.

This also keeps our chops in shape and the band together. The reason why the band is so close, we play a lot together! Like with so many musicians, the booking agent with lots of theatre work never came......

We don't feel us to good ourselves. We finish work at Slagharen at 12.30 so can combine it with every serious concert in the evening. The organisation there know at what level we play and respect it very much, so we may choose music WE like to play. The park provides us with some stability in our income. If we only did concerts, we would not be able to live from music.
