Award winning footage with Travis Livieri from Prairie Wildlife Research and Patrick McMillan from Clemson University. Expeditions brings you the first ever broadcast footage of a Black-footed ferret interacting with a prairie dog in daylight. Check it out...it's prey versus predator as this prairie dog defends himself in the early daylight hours.

  • This is the most remarkable wildlife video I've ever seen. As a ferret (and black-footed ferret) fanatic for over ten years, it was really a privilege to be able to watch this.

  • @davidroygaines Glad you enjoyed it!

  • What they didn't show was the ferret munching on prairie dog puppies inside the burrow.

  • The prairie dog is really taking the "dog" part way to seriously...Goes to show you - if you attack when confronted - chances are you'll come up on top.

  • SWIPER NO SWIPING.

  • by the end of the video i shipped Travis and Patrick

  • @retsaoter lmao

  • prarie dog: Come at me Bro

Black Footed Ferret: Shit i gotta run

  • It's kinda strange how they keep calling them just "ferrets". I automatically think of domesticated ferrets. Black footed ferrets and domesticated ferrets are quite different from each other.

  • @jurrasic I've worked with prairie dogs and you'd be surprised at their power and the strength of their bite :)

  • Wowza! As a ferret owner, and knowing a bit about it's cousin the black-footed ferret, I clicked this link expecting to see the blackfoot making lunch out of the Prairie dog's innards. That 'dog must have eaten his spinach, or else had some waiting prairie dog nookie close by to be that in-your-face to the critter that has eaten hundreds of its kin! I'd never expect to see that kind of an outcome. Thank you for posting!

  • do ferrets usually run away like that or do they stand their ground? prarie dogs are a problem where i live.

  • 1:05 .. lol.
