Today (9/dec/2007) I discovered the "interval timing function" of my Canon XL2. In a few minutes I've filmed a simple stop-motion test with some "improvised actors". The result is very interesting and this is a tecnique I will use in future for my projects.

The puppets:
A black sheep
A big yellow duck
Stanley Marsh (from South Park)

filmed at Cremona, Italy (near my House) in 9 december 2007 with a Canon XL2 (PAL, 16:9, 25p)
Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3

  • what are the settings nd stuff for this function? i got the same camere but never used interval timing before... how does it work?

  • The interval timing function has two settings: the recording time and the interval.

The recording time set the time to record. For this video I've set it to 1/2 sec (the minimum).

This mean that every 30 sec the camcorder automatically records 1/2 sec. Very useful for time-lapse effect.

  • thnx dude, imma go n try sum of this stuff tomorrow ;)

  • enjoy! :)
