Do you wonder what pork producers are doing to take care of the environment? Hear real consumers ask their questions and get answers from pork producers.
they most likely do get GMO crops but yields would go down if they did not grow them. manure cant runoff if injected into the ground and it is under good weather conditions.
How can you tell the size of the farm in the video? I only see a very clean farm. The farmers really seem to care about their animals & the environment. I noticed the barns are open on the sides, so the pigs get plenty of sunlight and Vit D. The pigs didn't seem crowded to me either. They look healthy, content and clean. That's how I want my food raised, in a clean and calm environment, away from predators and diseases.
Ha...these farms are huge, and the pigs are housed indoors and fed corn and soybeans, most likely GMOs (which cause fertility problems and stillborn deaths - and if you didn't feed the high-phytate soy in crowded conditions, the soil would be able to absorb the minerals and there would be no runoff). Pigs need vitamin D - and people do too.
