I still remember the exact moment when I heard SRV. I walk in this record store in early 80's and hear this sweet guitar sound from the speakers....it was everything , blues, jazz, r&B, rock, some country, played solo added chords.. all in one lick.....WOW...!! I asked the sales guy who is this...? he showed me the SRV album ... Texas Flood..I bought it...!!! what a waist...one of the few guitar players outside jazz that I admired...R.I.P.
I finished my nightshift the day before my birthday and was driving home listening to Crossfire and House is Rockin...I will never forget that day. RIP Stevie and I hope Kevin is playing with you up in Heaven.
I remember this night like it was yesterday. Bar none, one of the most amazing live performances I've ever seen. Took us 4 hours to drive back to Madison (normally an hour drive) and my roommates told us that Stevie had died...RIP Stevie Ray...we miss you!
My dad introduced me to srv's music when I was little and I've been a fan since I was little. God bless that man. I bet he's up in heaven jammin with Hendrix and all the other great guitarists that have passed on.
I miss you so much I have loved you'er still all the days of my life you always could be found in any little hole bar and you would get up and play.you always looked up to Clapton. you when out on the road one time and you live the life to the foulest . always will hold you in my heart .Just a good blues lover ......
If only we could see you and Jimi playing together!
