September 16th, 2008 near San Juan Islands of Washington state. Cascadia Research collaborating with the Northwest Fisheries Science Center of NOAA tagged this killer whale (orca).
From their website:
"September 16 we encountered a group of four mammal-eating killer whales (T18, T19, T19B, T19C) and were able to deploy a satellite tag on T19B, an approximately 13 year old male."
