Göbekli Tepe (Turkish for "Potbelly hill") is a hilltop sanctuary erected on the highest point of an elongated mountain ridge some 15 km northeast of the town of Şanlıurfa (formerly Urfa / Edessa) in southeastern Turkey. Göbekli Tepe is the oldest human-made place of worship yet discovered.[ The site, currently undergoing excavation by German and Turkish archaeologists, was erected by hunter-gatherers in the 12th millennium BC (c. 11,500 years ago), before the advent of sedentism. Together with Nevalı Çori, it has revolutionized understanding of the Eurasian Neolithic.

  • @noodlesmealey - IF evolution is true- witch it is NOT, why do we require 'transhumanism and the singularity so bad? - we need more trolls.

three dead ones in a baggie. like the three unclean spirits in cern. the dreamcatcher.

  • @noodlesmealey Troll

  • About the burying of the site, it might be one of those civilizations mentioned in the Quran who were buried upon their wrong doings. Also, Quran doesn't give a specific year for the emergence of living beings on earth.

  • Take a walk through these ‘temples’; worshippers cannot enter or exit gracefully, blind alleys confound the devout, there is no connection between inner and outer circles and no permanence - each structure served a purpose, was filled in and an another built nearby - with lessening enthusiasm. A temporary pagan deity appeasement arena fits better than an agrarian religious edifice. Astronomic characterizations of solar eclipses should correlate with Gobekli Tepe stone records of them.

  • Take an amazing site that can potentially tell us more about the origins of human civilization than any other site previously found, and mix it up with Noah's Ark, a fantastical magical story from a much more recent civilization. Why? Because hey guys, there are ANIMALS in the ark myth, there are ANIMALS carved on pillars in Gobekli Tepe! Coincidence?! I THINK NOT.

  • @noodlesmealey Ughh, which part do you not understand?

  • any total idiots here believe in evolution? -lets debate!
