  • I had an album of KD in the 60's. Along with his better known songs, there were also "T for Texas", "Peanut Vendor" and an excellent "If I had my way". Could anyone please put on you tube these three songs? Karl Denver is the best singer I have ever heard, and i never get bored listening to him again and again.

  • @rogermalyan

I've uploaded "The Peanut Vendor" and "Blue Yodel (T for Texas)" but I can't post the links here. I've dropped them on to your Channel notes

  • Thanks for adding this original hit version that launched The Karl Denver Trio on the charts . A unique sound , still sounds fresh and clear, the amazing voice, under pinned by his driving rhythm guitar, Gerry' bass and Kevin Neil's distinctive lead solo, arguably the most talented lead guitarist of the Sixties and still is as he continues touring in his late seventies!.....Memories......Mike

Hi there ... thanks for the comment but some bad news for you. Kevin Neill died on 13th March this year. He was 78 and had been suffering with motor neurone disease for some time. All three, Karl, Gerry and Kevin have now gone.

  • What a fantastic voice.

  • There were many recordings of the 1928 song Marcheta before Karl in his inimitable style with guitarist Kevin Neill's classic lead break, made the song his own.

Check the others out on You Tube I hope you'll agree his unique voice, the clarity and arrangement with Kevin and Gerry make Karl's version the best ever recording of the song.!!!

Of the others I enjoyed Nick Lucas's 1928 version.

  • Too bad you couldn't be a star all over the world . This is the first time I heard of Karl .

Think I'll listen to more .

    Thank you

  • @tibbettsa2 Would love to have a copy, inbox me please. To me Karl was the absolute greatest.

  • @rogermalyan It comes from the Wimoweh/Karl Denver compilation CD that Vocalian have brought out. You can get it from Amazon. It's well worth the money too.

  • @rogermalyan I have found one. It was on the album "Karl Denver At The Yewtree". The Yew Tree is a pub about 3 miles from where I live in Manchester UK, I saw Karl Denver there many times in the early 60s. I have ordered one of these on Ebay UK and hope the condition of this is good enough to transfer to a CD with a USB deck.

Many thanks for your answer to my request.

Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the album,if name there was. It's possible there was no album name. Only Karl Denver written in big letters, along with some songs titles in the album. I have just remembered that on this album, there was also, if i am not mistaken, "Pearly Gates".

  • @rogermalyan Do you know what the Album was called. I also had this album but it is long lost gone. I wish to buy a replacement.

  • DIFFERENT CATCHY

  • Excelente!!!

  • I absolutely love this song by Karl in the 1960's..Well it was in the charts then!!!

  • I feel like I know Marcheta
