  • OMG I read this book many years ago and would have never believed a book could move me to tears the way this one did, I was sobbing so hard, it was embarrassing!!! My Dad who I bought the book for told me he'd seen it on tv but I've never been able to find anything with regards to a Skallagrigg movie, so thank you so much for posting this!! I'm definitely going to chase a copy down, although I fear watching it will make me even more emotional than the book??

  • @WylieKiote - You're welcome, IMO the (sublime) book is much better than the TV adaptation - it was condensed into an hour and lost much of the intricacies of the story.

  • This is a fantastic drama based on the book by William Horwood. It's thought provoking compulsive viewing and very moving with an incedible ending as we discover who the Skallagrigg really is. It's available on DVD and I've just managed to get a copy after many years of trying. Well done for posting it here

  • i honestly don't think i have ever been touched so much by any other story in my life. i challenge any person to watch this and not feel the same way. absolutely brilliant. thank you for educating me. Skallagrigg forever.

  • its strange seeing this again now I am older, I remember Kerry Noble from when I was a kid, she used to race me around on her wheelchair! such a wonderful woman this film really disturbs me!

  • Thanks so much for posting this! I've been wanting to see it for quite a while but found it impossible to locate. The book, which clocks in at over 700 pages, is supposed to be quite good. I suspect that the film was only really able to skim the surface.

  • please can you tell me where you got your copy of this as i have been trying to get it for years

  • The dvd is not officially available, I have been told copies have turned up on Ebay (TV recordings).

  • hi, i wonder if you could tell me where the dvd is available from? many thanks. david
