Yes I think this grooming is too much! I have owned groomed my Yorkie's for over 30 years. I would never consider getting that aggressive over a top knot...Sorry just not for me :(

@PurePawsInc that's exactly right!

Get over yourselves, the dog isn't squirming, he even falls asleep! He's obviously not in pain and is quite comfortable. Yes, it is a lot of work, but that is because this is for competition, not just lounging around the house.

what kind of rubber bands do u use i really love the way u do the top knot it looks really good
Thanks for the comments. We all know there are plenty of dogs that get no love attention or pampering. So I agree let's save our feelings for those poor neglected animals and just respect the right of others to be able to enjoy taking care of their animals :) It certainly is better to care too much than too little :0)

Perhaps you should visit a dog show and meet some of the handlers, owners and breeders and I am sure you would feel differently. They probably spend 3/4 more time with their pet than the average pet owner and you will find that their dogs are carefully cared for and absolutely happy with extreme pampering. The entire procedure probably took 1.5 hours, a lot less time than the avg pet spends at the groomers shop. Thx for your comments.

wouldn't it be nice if we weren't so bothered about small things that really don't effect us personally :) We all have different ways of sharing time with our pets. What may be nonsense to one is not to another. In the spirit of competition traditional conformation standards have been around for many years. One might disagree with you about tying up their hair as they do look awfully well cared for & no chance of having irritated eyes which is a serious problem for many pet yorkies
