Finding the right pellet is critical to get the most out of your airgun. Fortunately brads like Gamo, H&N, RWS, and JSB have made it ease for you to do so inexpensively.

  • Is it true that you shouldn't use heavy pellets on springer guns? I've been reading in a few forums, on Youtube, and even on websites of professional airgun tuners that you should never use heavy pellets (such as Eun Jin, etc) with spring piston guns because they can destroy the main spring very quickly. I guess they are fine for PCP and some of the more powerful multi-pump pneumatics and CO2's, but NOT springers...anyways, have you heard of this?

  • @BeyondNeptune

there are some pellets that are just too heavy to be practical for springers; Eun Jins, Rabbit magnums, etc. The extent of what's "too heavy" is really open for debate. Generally .177's top out at 10ish grn and .22's top out at 21 grn.. going past that becomes unpractical for many spring guns.

    Cheers

Here's a question for the masses on this topic. Many airguns come in both .22 and .177. They have the same spring, same piston, same seal. The only difference is the barrel. so the same mechanics shoot pellets from 7.0 to 21 grains.. just something to think about.

  • is that the beeman rs1 in the video, it looks like their trigger

  • @880shooter

Actually, that is the Tech Force 89 with a Gas Ram.. video to come soon :)

  • This would be for practice but would like to have the hunting option. How reliable is the Gamo Slient Stalker. If i am looking at a used Gamo how can i tell if it has the SAT trigger

  • @corvettez256

The SAT trigger is BRAND NEW.. it is grey vs black and has SAT on the side. My guess is that anything that is used out there does not have the SAT trigger.

    Cheers

  • @corvettez256

I'm testing the Gamo Silent Stalker Whisper IGT over the next year to see hot it holds up. So far I've got about 800 to 1000 rounds through it and it is not showing any signs of wearing out.

    Cheers

  • This would be for target practice but I would also like to have varmint hunting option also. I was looking at the Gamo Slient Stalker Whisper IGT just wasn't sure if there was a better option. If the Gamo Slient Stalker Whisper IGT is my best choice how is the reliable and how well is the gun made ect.

    Thanks for the reply
