Frank Gambale is the best in the world.. There is no other to be compared.. I just look at when I have to comp someones elses stuff. Everyone is different and play well, but no ones chops are unplayable.. Frank's? Well, let's just say taking 10 seconds from one of his solo's would take you a lifetime to try to learn.. And still not learn it..

Frank is probably one of the most gifted guitarists who ever played the instrument. I have played guitar for 40 years and can only shake my head in frustration when I try to replicate his licks. Next to Gambale, I feel like a lumberjack sawing a log against a surgeon grafting a tiny artery. And, the bastard makes it look so effortless, dammit.

Frank Gambale has taken the guitar to limits that no other guitarist has even come close to reaching. Van Halen is great with his 3 note triplet pull-offs, but Gambale with his wide interval multiple octave sweeps over various harmonic overtones is truly unbelievable. Technique, phrasing, feel and blinding speed, Gambale represents the absolute best in the business.

He's probably the best guitar player of our lifetime. I know music is subjective but for just shear technique and ability, no one can touch him. I should know, I played with him for my graduation CD at GIT. It was a humbling experience I will never forget! So when I play live nowadays and people come up and compliment me, I just say thank you and and put my ego in the case with my guitar - LOL
