  • He makes absolutely no sense! Detroit is over 85% black, but blacks in detroit provide less than 2% of the jobs in the public sector of detroit. Afrocentric community is corrupt and totally useless. Reading, writing and a little math is not afro/euro centric. We live in american and have to compete. I would not let afrocentric people teach my worse enemy because they are liars and master of distortion, just noise. Medicine, architecture, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, engineering, etc .

  • @NewAfrikanMan I have actually witness this issue on schooling as it encompass black African-American children do a 360. I agree with what you are saying buttttt...... It will not go down here in America.

  • Great Interview! Malik Yakini is a true revolutionary! Institution-building is critical for internal colonies. It enables the building of parallel power, which is essential in the process of national self-determination. We need institutions -- schools, hospitals, banks, businesses, etc -- that compete with those of the colonizing government as consciousness is heightened towards national independence!

  • African Centered Education is not just about black history or building self esteem. It is, amongst many things, about changing the power relationship between Blacks and black African-Americans to whites and others as it relates Blacks inability to extract wealth from the US Commerce systems thus alleviating their high dependecy on whites and others for their subsistence.

  • Malik Yakini's work ethic is legendary and it is eclipsed only by his keen intellect. While most Revolutionary/Cultural Nationlists agreed with the visionary Haki Madhubuti's seminal opus,”From Plan to Planet Life Studies: The Need for Afrikan Minds and Institutions", Malik shepherded the development of the K-8 Afrikan-Centered, Nsoroma Institute since its inception in 1989. Few know of the myriad tribulations stoically shouldered by the Heru-Like Malik Yakini.who met the Challenge of History.
