this album did the best job of capturing Ian's fading sing voice. Other albums after Broadsword (when his voice was already iffy) have him somewhat melded in the background. Here he sounds up close. When fused with his sometimes confessional lyrics, it's still a good voice. But it's not a rock opera voice any more.

I was never much of a Tull fan until I bought a cassette of "Crest of a Knave" a few years ago to help keep me awake while driving. Loved it so I found the CD. Wow!
This "bonus track" turns out to be one of the most beautifuul/melancholy songs I've ever heard. I spend months at a time away from home for work and this song captures perfectly some of those feelings slipping in and out of sleep alone in a strange bed.
