are you funded by Cato or the Koch brothers? Are you part of the denial machine buying up the US government through the supreme court 5/4 decisions?
You people are serious monsters. 85% of stocks in the US are held by 1% of the population. Corporation USA is Of, For, and By the 1% the rest of us are just indencher servants / slaves. Or are you blinded by your world view? Capitalism is a failure!
I'm looking forward to a French style revolution. Let the head rolling begin!

Oh my!
The Cato Institute is a libertarian think tank headquartered in Washington, D.C. It was founded in 1977 by Edward H. Crane, who remains president and CEO, and Charles Koch, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the conglomerate Koch Industries, Inc.
Scum Bags all!
Grow up and use some real sources not this clap-trap from the Peak -oil / Climate-change denial machine!
You are a waste of time!

MasterResource / Robert L. Bradley, Jr.
"Rob Bradley’s interest in energy began when he prepared a study on the oil-reseller boom for a Houston bank in 1980. This investigation into the interplay of business and 1970s oil price and allocation regulation led him to apply for a grant from the Cato Institute..."

Oh my!
What is it with you infinite growth people? Is it that you are ignorant, completely lack prescient abilities, or just insist on believing anything you want despite the facts?
No! There will not "imminently be no fuel!" And that is also not the problem with peak oil. It is also not the the peak oil argument. At this rate civilization will collapse before you understand the danger of peak oil is. Your libertarian world view is pathetically naive.

@Knossos22 "You think that because the rate of increase in population has decline a little that everything is or will be fine"
Why are you dodging the question?: "Should we expect that there will imminently be no fuel?"
.
"we ARE the reindeer"
That's not a very apt metaphor, given that -- unlike reindeer -- humans can possess private-property, engage in trade and create more resources than they consume. What would prevent a human population of a trillion from living on Earth for a million years?
-
Will the future be determined by whether we cross 7,000,000,000 on Oct 31 or the following July? Will it matter in the least? Does it matter if the population peaks at 9,000,000,000 or 10,000,000,000? I don't think we will ever see population above 8 billion.
"You're saying humans are reindeer?" Yeah, we ARE the reindeer!
Don't you understand what a metaphor Is?
Are you a teabagger or a republi-con?

Just reread your comments. You read like a broken record sounds. BORING! All the same crap over and over. You do not go anywhere. You think that because the rate of increase in population has decline a little that everything is or will be fine. Instead of seeing the consequence of continual growth you nit-pick about the statement being no longer true and imply that everything is or will be fine.
Ummmmm. Abiotic/biotic oils debate is irrelevant to peak oil. Peak oil is about flow rate, not about the origin of oil.
If oil origin was totally abiotic, peak oil would still be in the boxes.
Peak oil is about the peak of oil extraction, not about oil reserves. It is a story of flow rate, not left volume.

The abiotic oil theory is ridiculous because energy can't be created out of nothing. Every known oil well has a characteristic bell-shaped production profile. There was never ever an oil well replenished after it had reached its production phase. Besides that today's civilization uses huge amounts of oil every day. It took millions of years to create this oil in the earth's crust. We're just a mayfly if you compare the whole lifespan of mankind with those geologic events which created petroleum.
