OMG..he's touting the power of SCSI...I just had a 90's flashback and it WASNT good! Arghhhh SCSI ZIP crash nightmare in effect...just lost alll my sounds F&^%$%^!!

@christayah A patch is basically a sound. Roland call them patches, Yamaha calls them voices. Preset patches are the factory sounds. You can create your own patch (voice, sound) but putting them in user banks. Patches or voices or sounds are created by waveforms. I hope this helps.

Sorry for the question that I´m about to make, but why e and how works perfomances??? I mean it because I did a favorite list (It took a lot of time to manager with this feature) and I still can´t understand the performance "bank" and how to use playing live... instead of use performances I edited my patches and put them in the position I wanted into my favorite list... I don´t know if I made it right, so I´m open for suggestions!

i keep hearing about 'patches' sorry im kind of a noob to all this what exactly is a patch?? great vids btw

Patches are a throwback to when Synthesizers were modular (made with different boxes) and were physically patches together with short patch cables. So when someone made a patch, they connected an oscillator to a filter to an amplifier. All that to say...a patch is simply a group of settings that make a cool sound. You select a piano "patch" or preset and then a Brass "Patch". It's one of those pieces of jargon that never seem to die!
