Thirty years ago (1979), the first obviously black video game character appeared in Basketball, programmed by Alan Miller for the Atari 800 home computer. Fore more info, see:

  • Another interesting historical gaming artifact is the 1984 game "Daley Thompson's Decathlon", issued for the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC and ZX Spectrum. Though curiously, due to the hardware limitations and limited colour palette of the ZX Spectrum computer, the version issued for it had Mr Thompson appear a ghostly white....

  • Step aside Atari Basketball Black Guy. There's a new Black Video Game character in town. I forgot the his name but the game I cant forget. Its called StarHawk and my God it looks awesome.
