How to cast a helmet

This is a tutorial on how to cast a helmet using Smooth-cast 300 plastic from Smooth-on. The mold is made from Rebound-25 and I have a tutorial for how to make the mold. The raw casts can be sanded, painted, detailed, and worn. They are strong and fairly light. If you have any questions just ask and I'll try and help.

Can you some how make it so your cast doesn't have that line down the middle? Like when your Casting your helmet

@MarioThePlush Yeah you can do one piece molds with some of the silicones but I've never tried it. That would get rid of the seem totally. You can also reduce the size of the seam with two piece molds by just making a good mold but there will pretty much always be a mark where the two halves come together.

Do you know if you can actually have the casting resin come into contact with any of the fiberglass, or can the resin only come into contact with nothing but silicone in order to make a safe pull?

@cssrocko If you get plastic onto the resin it will stick to it so try not to. If it's just a little bit then you can usually break off the part that stuck.
