I was taught to press the palm of your hand on the top of your mask and push against your forehead, breath in through mouth then exhale through nose forcing water out the bottom with no head roll. I was down at about 15-20m and took on water and did this exact method and was fine.

THis is incorrect you point to nose and say no then point to mouth and breath out??

w@dalidowicz I'm sorry but you are mistaken. The mask is partially filled with water around the nose. The student is reminder not to breath IN through the nose, but to breath in through the mouth. Then the head is tilted forward and the student told to breath in through the mouth and whilst rolling back the head to breath OUT of the nose to clear the mask. This is explained in the dive brief as water can irritate the nose giving the urge to breath in through it. The student is reminded not to.

@dalidowicz All key skills and steps are addressed, which would earn an AI a mark of 5 in an instructors examination. I hope this helps to clarify the demo. Regards, David.
