Hidden Dangers In Teflon Cookware

We all like to have convenience in the kitchen right? Well sometimes there is a price to pay for that added convenience and this is not just about the extra money you would be paying, this is about you paying for the convenience with your health. Would you like to risk your health just to save a little time in the kitchen? Do you have pets in your home? Would you like your pets to be healthy too? Not understanding the dangers that are hidden within your kitchen may lead you vulnerable to avoidable health problems or even death. Many are aware of this but some may not know the full story behind all the chemicals involved with making Teflon.

There are safer alternatives to non stick cookware as they are eliminating certain chemicals that are found to be the major health risk. Check around with manufacturers of non stick cookware and see if the products they offer have no risk. Do your research online before making any final decisions.

I will always prefer stainless steel due to the purity. Always look for the best grade stainless steel cookware that is non porous!

Mostly BS. PTFE won't harm you at all if it's ingested and though Teflon has been produced with the known carcinogen PFOA, in the manufacturing process, there is likely to be none in the cookware you but and most other PTFE coated cookware id made without PFOA. Yes, overheating can cause PTFE to break down into some potentially toxic substances and care should be taken when using it, it's lousy for searing meat and stir frying but it is great for omelets or crepes when you use low heat anyway.

Use cast iron cook ware ! Preheat your pan for 5 minutes and it will be non stick :)

Cast iron is superior to stainless steel , but weighs more :P

I'm 50/50 here. Teflon was invented to reduce the need for excess cooking oils, since we have a serious obesity issue in the US. If you cook with stainless steel, you need a heleva lot of fattening oil to cook your food. I understand teflon causes cancer, but using cooking oils to cook your food with stainelss steel causes heart attacks. So whatta ya do? I've tried those fat free sprays in stainless steel and your food still sticks. only oil works. I hate SS!! I wish teflon wasn't cancerous

It seems that ptfe is now used in fireworks - if you heat this stuff and it produces a gas instantly lethal to birds, what happens if you fire lots of it into the air and a flock of birds happens by-----?

By the way, this gas is not just lethal to birds, its lethal to humans too - which is why it is in section 2 of the chemicals weapons convention - its just that there is not enough on one frying pan.

Teflon was approved in an awful hurry.... thanks for posting the TRUTH........ just because it's on/in EVERYTHING doesn't make it SAFE.... like water flouridation..... THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!!!!!!!
