after months of research i'm down to the sti gp5 and the fnx-9. the deciding factors for me would be the softness of recoil in both and overall function. So, whats the recoil like and does that safety double as a decocker?

@ZenPotion Recoil is very manageable. I don't think the safety is also a decocker. It's a fantastic weapon with an unorthodox design.

scary, one jam, and one slide forward not locking back after the last round, poor workmanship??

@Deanzsyclone Nope, just low quality re-loaded ammo and operator error. I had my thumb on the slide release. It's a common problem for me with pistols.

I had a problem with this one when I had just bought it. After probably few hundred rounds, the slide started locking back on itself. The spring that was responsible for keeping tension or the slide release had gone missing and the recoil basically bounced the slide release up, locking the slide back :D

It was, naturally, fixed by warranty, though.
