I will make one other clarification about Mexican male migrant labor in the USA, whether illegal or legal, (and I suppose the same can be said about any poor man seeking a promise of better opportunities far away) ---> they tend to get exploited and they compromise their sisters' safety by doing so. I don't see that as protective of their sisters' safety. In fact I hardly see that as self respect.
