The Mesa Verde was perhaps the highlight of my American adventure. It is different to the other natural wonders that we saw....Monument Valley was amazing, the Grand Canyon awe inspiring but the is a mysticism about the Mesa Verde. Its moving, calming though provoking.....a whole volley of emotions.

Mesa Verde is just outside Cortez Colorado. Its not anywhere near Mexico but it is somewhat close to New Mexico, Chaco Canyon in New Mexico is pretty close to Mesa Verde and worth a visit. A week at either of these places would just about cover everything there is to see.

..no it isn't, this was Native America from the beginning and still is.... Mexico didn't become a country until the early and mid 1800's. Mexico(Spaniards) all of the lands (Calif, New Mex, AZ, south parts of CO) to the US, and that was a decisive battle at the Alamo. - fullblood
