Céline singing the Canadian national anthem to open a hockey game.
She sang "O Canada" just after singing "The star splangled banner" and before being interviewed by Jean Page. I wish I could find a video of all this and not just an extract... Hope you enjoy it anyway :)

Lyric:

O Canada!
Terre de nos aïeux,
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux.

Car ton bras sait porter l'épée,
Il sait porter la croix.

Ton histoire est une épopée,
Des plus brillants exploits.

God keep our land
glorious and free!
we stand on guard,
we stand on guard for thee

O Canada,
we stand on guard for thee.

  • It seems obvious to me now this song was meant to be sung in french, its the only way it flows....just an observation.

  • @xfire7 I totally agree with you. In French it works much better than in English!

  • @MetalandHotRods @bigbiggymasterbig ok, stop it. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion, but don't be disrespectful, please.

  • Très belle préstation. Je n'aime pas la variété, mais Céline Dion possède une très belle voix

  • @dyllanmckay different interpretation, thats all :)

  • I think it is the best canadian national anthem I have ever heard. Nitpickers find another board to bitch. Geeze.

  • @smexy305 at the end it's supposed to go "Oh Canada we stand on guard for thee" not "we stand on guard we stand on guard for thee" she messed up

  • @rivqahelishiva how did she mess up?

  • @xfire7 it was written in French then translated into English

  • THE CANADA IS FRENCH. INDEPEDENCE FOR QUEBEC
