An unusual logo combination I found on a DVD I imported from the UK. Along with the MGM/UA Home Video logo and the Turner logo, this combination also includes an interesting variant on the 1940 MGM logo. Very Real! I was quite suprised to see this logo combination, heck, I didn't even know the MGM/UA logo was ever used on a DVD release!

  • Can you try the 1995 Version of MGM/UA Home Video insted of the 1990 logo please.

  • @CrazyBrandondorf But is not fake. It's how it actually appeared on the DVD. Why, I do not know.

  • the 1950 one you have in this video looks extremely similar to the one used in: The Wizard Of Oz 1937 film

  • This is how it was on my VHS tape of "Little Nellie Kelly".

  • This is likely to be transfered from a Laserdisc. That MGM/UA logo was dead by the time DVD hit.

  • @MattTheSaiyan The 1995 MGM/UA Home Video is also on DVD too.

  • Turner retained certain home video and cable broadcasting rights to the MGM/UA movies. They differed from movie to movie. But it's important to remember that, with the MGM/UA buy, Turner also purchased the UA library, which not only included UA's titles, but also the pre-1950 Warner Bros library, which UA bought in the 50s to show on TV. Turner also owned the RKO film library. At any rate, for certain MGM titles, the Turner 'cigar' logo appears on the home video releases for legal reasons.

  • 0:20 what it taken from?

  • It was in 1999.

  • I thought MGM ended its deal with Turner to release movies by videocasette.
