Oh my gosh, I only saw this just now. I LOOOVE Bobby Darin. He was such a genius, and a great human being. Saw "Hell is for Heroes" again the other day and Darin STEALS the show, what a multitalent! Such a loss, but he lived life to the fullest while he was here.

Where did you get this episode from? I've never seen it on any of the collections that have been released.

So many wonderful older male actors really loved Bobby and took him under their wing, they new real talent when they saw it. Burns, Benny, Durante. Bobby never got to know his father and I think he really loved and appreciated these special relationships with these great men, and he was appreciative and really listened and learned from all of them.

This is wonderful. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed seeing my dear, late husband, Howard Caine, in this scene with Jack Benny and Bobby Darin (I don't know who the other actors were). It tugs at my heart. Thank you.

I'm so glad that the posting brought back good memories for you. The other actors in the scene are Peter Leeds as Bobby Darin's agent and Benny Rubin as the waiter. Wonderful character actors like your husband worked so hard and added so much to these shows without ever receiving much fanfare. We've all seen them so many times, but hardly ever know their names.
