I'm familiar with Locke, Thoreau and Kante--who tried to disprove the human spirit.

I'm also familiar w Madison, Adams, Franklin, Washington & Lincoln--each w strong faith & the common sense not to prefer one religion over another.

Given how Catholics came to arrive in the US, I'd say they got that part right. Freedom of Religion does not mean there is no God, but that people can practice as they see fit w/o govt endorsement.

Now the govt endorses Naturalism--another type ideology.

I'm pretty sure my illustration of utilitarian law is right on the mark. it comes down to the pleasure principle. And it allows for slavery and for abortion... congrats. Because the slave was so small in numbers and those who benefited were world wide, slavery would be acceptable (given the liberal way of thought). Same for abortion. Though the child experiences pain, it is short lived--the mothers pleasure comes first.
