I've read many studies on pedestrian safety, and a pedestrian is just as likely to be hit crossing with the green as against the red. Hit at 15mph, you have an 85% chance of survival, at 25 mph, 55%. Your chances of surviving if hit at 35mph? 15%
Crosswalks should be set at least 5 meters from the intersection, and pedestrians should never be told that they have the right-of-way in a crosswalk, which nearly triples their chance of being killed.

No Jeremy, you are in fact wrong.
If your statements were true there would be no need for sidewalks, crosswalks or stop signs, traffic lights . Your a tool for thinking "I have the right to walk wherever I want, whenever I want".
You have that right as much as I have the right to walk into a bar that is prodominantly black and scream the "n" word. Yes, it is my right but that doesnt mean I wont get my ass handed to me. Correct?
