SFF DOCUMENTARY FEATURE Playing at the Sarasota Film Festival Sat, Apr 10th 11:45am and Mon, Apr 12th 5:30pm. For six years, Israeli filmmaker Nete Efrony documented the comings and goings at Kalandia, a checkpoint on the road between East Jerusalem and Ramallah that grew into a massive terminal. Now one of the largest Israeli military checkpoints in the occupied West Bank, Kalandia does not separate Arabs and Jews; it separates Palestinians from Palestinians. This film is a rare and authentic look at the daily struggle of Palestinians who continue their routine lives despite being separated by checkpoints from their work, hospitals, schools, families and houses of prayer.
