Our summer program allowed us to learn how to play some of the Samulnori instruments. Samulnori is traditional Korean percussion using four instruments: Kkwaenggwari, Jing, Janggu, and Buk. I got to learn a beat on the Janggu.

Then we had a field trip to a Korean Folk Village. We saw real Samulnori performers and a tightrope walker. The tightrope walker made me nervous- he was an old man (probably 60's) doing these dangerous and painful looking tricks. I'm sure he's been doing them his whole life, but still. Oh, and the folk village had a little theme park section and I got hit in the eye by a branch...
