In response to your question, gold is intrinsically valuable and has been so for the past 3 thousand years (at least) because of its widespread acceptance as a means of exchange for goods and services to make it more convenient for producers and consumers. Humans will always want the shiny metal that has been traditionally used as a bartering tool over today's fiat paper currencies that are ultimately doomed to decay

cause someone said it was....?? thats my take on it in terms of the show I do like the gold rush show and caught the new bearing sea gold last night as well and I do like both of them not sure what it is prolly just the idea of striking it big and digging up gold out of the ground its pretty cool the whole process and the idea of having thousands if not millions of dollars under your feet!!

Gold has a lot of desirable chemical properties such as low reactivity, high conductivity, high ductility and malleability which makes it most desirable for applications such as electronics, dentistry & jewelry. Also, gold has a long and strong history of being valuable across cultures. But, these things in themselves only goes so far in explaining the value of gold.

The best way to explain why Gold is valuable is because there's a market for it. People believe that it is valuable, so it is.
