@marcsdriver my dad had a 72 model. he drove it over 250k miles before he hydroplaned in a storm and wrecked it. never did anything but a timing belt. then he got a new 77. canary yellow. i was 16 and soon took it over from him. 2.3 4 speed. that little car would go from daylight to dark in an hour and a half. won a lot of money drag racing with that little car.it would beat my 72 roadrunner with a 440.

The rust part is a fucking lie hahaha

My mom bought one new and drove it 100,000 miles and no problems

I had a 74 wagon, I bought it without great expectations and drove it as a second beater car. It was underpowered, sure, but overall it was reliable and served me well for quite a few years. It was simple to fix as well. No complaints!

BOOM!

what did you get after that? what kind of car?

Drive a Pinto and it will keep people from tailgating you.

"Ford's Pinto lets you say goodbye to a lot of extra servicing."
..And, yourself.
Yes, and explosive idea from Ford, too.

They'd blow up when they'd get rear-ended. That's what made them so unsafe.
