  • @barrach7 Actually, Im a linguist, and I would say (based on rules of mutual ineligibility) that Glasgow does have its own language, complete with unique semantic, syntactic, and phonological rules.

After all: "A language is merely a dialect with its own army and navy"....

  • There's no such thing as a 'Scottish' accent. One can forgive the ingirlish or anyone from outside not knowing this...but for apparent 'Scots' to know it is pathetic! There's NOT a Scottish language...Doric and Scots are basic dialects. Nothing more, nothing less. Scottish Gaelic, on the other hand IS a language. Saying Glasgow has it's own language is like saying that (eg) Newcastle has it's own language! Eh?! And accents vary hugely in different areas of Scotland.

  • @MisterTwoPiece Bahahahahaaaa! I was wonderin' too!!

  • @brucevg91406 - they're all a bunch of shags? :S

  • I'm Scottish. Half my family lives in America, half in Scotland. At family reunions, I end up translating back and forth between the Americans and the Scots. It's so hilarious. They're all a bunch of podgers!!
