Actually with a scalpel it'll bleed like crazy, and the fibroma will grow back. which is actually WORSE! Doctor isn't stupid, lasers are amazing! and more dentist should innovate lasers into their practice.
With the laser it takes a minute or two and the procedure is done, and the fibroma doesn't grow back and the tongue heals in a week and there's isn't even a scar. It's as if it was never there. Also with a scalpel it would leave a scar, and the patient would not be happy.

That actually wasn't me who was being operated on, I was the one filming. But, prior to the procedure the patients tongue was numbed and he said that he barely felt anything, just that the tongue felt like something warm was touching it. No pain. The procedure was a success no bleeding, and the tongue healed in just a couple weeks with no scar.
