@tommiexander , Other black artists on white labels? I thought Motown was a black label? The way I look at it, everyone was taken for a ride at Motown. Diana was almost worked to death. That's why she was so skinny at the height of her career. I'll search for that documentary you mentioned. Although I don't really know where to find it. I was just a wee boy when all this stuff with Flo's firing was going on.

There were other Black artists on White labels that got taken for a ride. It wasn't just Berry and Motown. Flo made a lot of mistakes when she was with the Supremes and after she left the Supremes. She hired a lawyer to help her get more money from Motown and the lawyer kept the money for himself and she had to sue her lawyer. So it's not all about Berry being evil. You need to watch the story of Flo Ballard on Unsung on TVOne and maybe you can get a better understanding of it all.

@tommiexander , That still doesn't explain why she did it. She should have seeked counsel. Cause I'm sure the original contract didn't have those stipulations. Berry Gordy really is evil

Flo signed away her rights to any royalties in exchange for a one time payment of $15,000 payment from Motown, which was another one of her biggest mistakes.....

Wow this is really wrong , he must have no clue about anything he's talking about , Florence Ballard , Mary WIlson , & Diana Ross from 1964-1967 had 10 number ones . & Flo never lived in chicago .

How could they report something so wrong. Chicago? Florence never lived in Chicago and she wasn't receiving any royalties from Motown because she signed away her rights to receive royalties from Motown.

this news story was misleading. firest of all she never recieved any royalties from motown. second of all she never live in chicargo. she lived in detroit.
