This movie is like a master class in acting. Sam Rockwell is fantastic. They should lock Sam Rockwell, Tom Hanks, Chris Cooper, Matt Damon and David Strathairn in a room and just tell them to come up with something.

there's such a twisted dark streak to this film but it definitletly has an interesting place in the scheme of spy movies no ones neccesarily proven Chuck Barris ' claims of being a spy but no one has substantially disproved anything he has said either ; entertaining spin and directorial debut by CLOONEY about a best forgotten episode of T V history!!

isn't chuck barris that cunt who ignored his daughter and then tried to make money off a book about her after her death?

Why didn't Jim just tell Chuck who the mole was, instead of using information about his past (aside from his corpse) to convince him to find the person? Was it to add mystery to the movie or is it the same in the book? If so, is it enough to refer this as a plot hole in Chuck's True/False story? That Barris wrote the scene intentionally for effects.

Also the fact that the Communist and Cold War crap never ended until the end of the 80's. Our government was willing to go to extremes to stamp out Communism.
