On this video, I set out to film Amtrak's last, and only diesel electric-powered train on the Harrisburg Line, at the last crossings on the Harrisburg Line. I filmed an eastbound (#42), and a westbound (#43) Pennsylvanian at each crossing.

First crossing: P42DC #194 leads eastbound Pennsylvanian #42, and P42DC #125 leads westbound Pennsylvanian #43 over Eby Chiques Rd. in Mount Joy, PA

Second crossing: P42DC #194 leading westbound Pennsylvanian #43, and P42DC #125 leading eastbound Pennsylvanian #42, have a perfect meet at Irishtown Rd. in Gordonville, PA

Third crossing: P42DC #194 leads eastbound Pennsylvanian #42, and P42DC #125 leads westbound Pennsylvanian #43 over Newcomer Rd. in Mount Joy, PA

  • I did not know that the Pennsylanian has an Amfleet 2 cafe car lounge.

  • I was wondering when someone would notice that!I This was the only time I had ever seen an Amfleet II Cafe on the Pennsylvanian; Amfleet I Cafe's are the standard food service cars assigned to it.

  • The last CHI-NYC train to run through here was the Three Rivers; it made its last run on March 7, 2005.

  • Beautiful Dopplers on the first 3. Perfect timing on the second one!! that's where they usually meet right around Irishtown Rd. if they're right on schedule.

  • That truck on the last crossing had crossed and beat the crossing gates just in time when the bells started dinging.

  • At first I thought they were Keystones but the Genesis were taking the lead.

  • that meet was very rare, and another reason not to play chicken at a crossing..who would expect 2 trains to be crossing at the same time...

  • That meet was amazing between the two Pennsylvanians because they only pass eachother twice a day so its very rare to get them at a crossing.

  • cool

  • why no bell on the third crossing?

  • why?

  • Why is there no electric engines?????

  • GREAT catch at Irishtown! 'Tis a shame these crossing have roughly one year of service left, if that.
