On June 6th 2009 Sarah Palin visited Auburn, NY home of Secretary of State William Seward under Presidents Lincoln & Johnson and former Governor of New York. Seward purchased the territory of Alaska which at the time was ridiculed as "Sewards Folly" but has since proven a wise purchase. Founders day is a now annual event to commemorate Auburn's special relationship with Alaska.
