Old vids like this really make me ponder past times...in his day, he was really cool, and he's still cool. This music was 'where it was at' at the time...and then I think about all the performers in their particular eras, and how, in a cosmic sense, all the music we've ever heard doesn't even constitute a 'blip' on the radar screen of history. Okay, I'll stop now...

Loved it but why was he performing in Miss Haversham's front parlour?

I found this a week ago and can't get enough of it. I love Johnny Marvin. I have always loved this Yellen/Ager song. I must have him on 100 78's without trying. It's incredible to finally see him in action. He had another persona: Honey Duke and his Uke. Occasionally Johnny Marvin would meet Honey Duke on the same record as is the case with this video. (The Scat singing was a "Honey Duke" trademark) He died at 48 but what a legacy. Thank-You Thank-You Thank-You Thank-You Thank-You!!!!!
